Vintage& Historic Drag Racers In the early 1960s, a new form of competition roared onto the motorsport scene. Based on modified versions of Detroit's new muscle cars, this neophyte spectacle known as Super Stock drag racing received a boon in 1964 when NASCAR banned Chrysler's monstrous 426 Hemi. The automaker responded by funneling the majority of its motorsport resources into Super Stock drag racing.
